Childcare Consultants for
Approved Providers
Stay in control of your service and get a second set of eyes on it.
You are running the service. You are not looking to hand that over. But something is not working, or something is coming up that you have not done before, and you would rather not learn it the expensive way.
Who this is for
An assessment and rating visit coming up
Occupancy has slipped and you cannot see why
A new approved provider who does not know what they do not know
A capable but new Centre Manager who needs support
You are considering buying a service
Something has gone wrong and you need help now
What we do
One-day diagnostic
A full day on site. We look at your quality practices, compliance position, roster, occupancy and financials, then give you a written report in priority order. Most providers start here.
Project work
A defined piece of work with a start and an end. Assessment and rating preparation, a policy rebuild, a roster and cost analysis, or a pre-purchase review.
Ongoing retainer
Regular access to us without handing over operations. Scoped to what your service actually needs, and you stay in control throughout.
How it works
A conversation
Thirty minutes, no cost. Where your service is, where you want it to be, and whether we are the right people to help.
A scope
What we will look at, how long it will take and what it costs. In writing, before anything starts.
The work
On site where it needs to be. We talk to your Centre Manager and your team, not just to you.
A written output
Findings and recommendations in priority order. Yours to act on, with us or without us.
What it costs
A fixed fee, and no minimum term.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
With a management agreement we take on the operation of your service. With consultancy you stay in control and we advise.
Consultancy engagements have an end date. Management agreements are ongoing, with a three-year minimum term. Most providers start with a one-day diagnostic and decide from there.
-
Yes, and most providers do. A one-day diagnostic is a fixed fee with no obligation to go further.
You get a written report with findings and recommendations in priority order. It is yours to act on with us or without us, and it is designed as a standalone piece of work rather than a sales call.
-
For consultancy, yes. It is a lighter commitment on both sides, so we take that work more broadly, including remotely and interstate.
Full management is different. That runs from Coolum to Port Macquarie, because we manage services we can be standing in.
-
Consultancy has no minimum size. A one-day diagnostic works as well for a 40-place service as a 120-place one.
Full management is different. Below around 60 places a management fee is difficult to justify against the revenue base, and we would usually recommend an owner-operator model instead.

Rebecca Gunn, who runs our consulting practice and manages services for a living.
These get written between actual client work, which is why we complete a limited number each month rather than turning them around instantly.
-
That happens often, and the diagnostic work is not wasted. We already know your service, so mobilisation is faster.
There is no obligation either way. Some providers use consultancy once and never come back, which is a perfectly good outcome.
