O U R T E A M
Rebecca Gunn
Business Manager. She runs the consulting practice and leads the Regional Managers.
W H O I S S H E
The person a consultancy client actually deals with.
Rebecca leads the consulting practice at The Scholars Group. She writes every service health check personally, holds the client relationships, and leads the three Regional Managers who look after the services we manage.
If you engage us for consultancy, you are dealing with her. Not a junior, and not a salesperson who hands you over after signing.
Rebecca is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive and practical in her approach. She takes the time to understand what’s needed and communicates clearly.

What that has looked like
Cottage Academy
Occupancy driven by reputation rather than discounting, after aligning the team, the systems and the practice.
Smartland Port Macquarie
Led by its Campus Manager, supported by Rebecca. Consistent leadership and a strong team culture.
Regional Managers
Jeannette, Stacey and Lauren all report to her, covering the services we manage across two states.
What she does
Three things, and they are all client-facing.
The diagnostics
Every service health check and every one-day diagnostic. She reads a service the way an Authorised Officer would, then writes it up in priority order.
The relationships
Owners deal with her directly. She visits the services, meets the Campus Managers and their teams, and has honest conversations with owners about what is actually happening.
The leaders
She runs our annual Educational Leader conference, where leaders present their action research projects, and supports Campus Managers through their qualifications and into stronger practice.
New builds
She works the early learning side of new services.
Rebecca has worked alongside builders and developers on purpose-built early learning services, including two that went on to win Master Builders Awards.
Room layouts set against licensed places, flow through the building, and whether a design will actually deliver the capacity an owner is paying for.
W H Y I T M A T T E R S
Owners keep working with her because she tells them the truth.
The most useful thing a management partner does is say the uncomfortable thing early. Rebecca does that, and the owners who have been with us longest are the ones who wanted it.
